About Jamie Gorelick
Jamie Gorelick is a respected and accomplished litigator and public servant. Currently, she is a partner of the law firm WilmerHale, under their Regulatory and Government Affairs and Litigation and Controversy Departments. She also serves as the co-chair of the Defense and National Security Practice Group, chair of the Public Policy and Strategy Practice Group, a member of the Government and Regulatory Litigation Practice Group, and a member of the Executive Committee.
Jamie Gorelick's career has evolved and progressed in the legal field, public policy and in the corporate sector. She has experience in civil and criminal litigation, internal corporate investigations and providing counsel for "issues that the intersection of law, policy and governance." Jamie Gorelick was a leader in the bar, serving as President of the District of Columbia Bar from '92 to '93. Jamie Gorelick served as the Deputy Attorney General of the United States, which is the second highest position with the Department of Justice. Her role as Deputy Attorney General included supervising the litigation and law enforcement divisions for the Department, which includes the United States Attorneys' Offices. When she came on board, she served as General Counsel. Her accomplishments include the Department of Justice's contributions to the consolidation of the defense industry during the ‘90s. Her leadership and work garnered recognition, which she was then awarded Secretary of Defense Distinguished Service Medal. Jamie Gorelick also led as Vice Chair of the Task Force on the Audit, Inspection and Investigation Components of the Department of Defense. She also assisted the Secretary and the Counselor to the Deputy Secretary of Energy. She was then awarded the Secretary's Outstanding Service Medal.
Jamie Gorelick has been an active leader for a variety of government boards and commissions. She was a key member for the bipartisan National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, also known as the "9/11 Commission." She also served as a member for the CIA's National Security Advisory Panel, President George Bush's Review of Intelligence Committee and President Bill Clinton's Advisory Committee to the Presidential Commission regarding the Critical Infrastructure Protection (which Jamie Gorelick co-chaired).
